CHILDREN FROM ABRUZZO HOSTED AT MILAN SAN SIRO STADIUM THANKS TO NUTRILITE AND MILAN FOUNDATION Forty children will be travelling from the area stricken by the earthquake to watch the AC Milan vs Catania soccer match and meet Ronaldinho in Milan. Goals scored by the Brazilian star are making possible to build a multi-purpose sports facility in the earthquake area Milan, Italy, 09 April 2010 – A year after the earthquake, 40 children from L’Aquila will be hosted in Milan by Nutriliteä and AC Milan Foundation to spend a day dedicated to sport and fun. These children are only a few among those who will be able to benefit from the 5-a-side soccer pitch that Nutrilite, within the framework of the Amway One by One campaign, and through AC Milan Foundation, will be funding and that is being built in Pagliare di Sassa a small village in the suburbs of L’Aquila. For the second year in a row, Nutrilite is donating USD 10,000 for each goal scored by Ronaldinho in official matches. The money is assigned to projects involving children. This season the proceeds from the goals scored in Italy are being used to build a multi purposes 5-a-side soccer pitch near the city of L’Aquila, which will allow children to play sports and enjoy themselves. This Sunday’s event springs from the desire of Nutrilite and AC Milan Foundation to give a chance to a group of children from L’Aquila, a year after the earthquake which struck their city, to spend a whole day feeling the special atmosphere that surrounds the AC Milan soccer team. The children, who will be arriving in Milan on Saturday evening, will spend Sunday at Milan San Siro stadium as special guests. After watching the AC Milan vs Catania match, they will have the unique chance to meet Ronaldinho. “We are very happy we were able to organize this special day. We believe it will leave a lasting impression not only on the children, but also on all of those who, at different levels, are involved in the One by One campaign” said Monica Milone, Amway Corporate Affairs Area Manager We are also extremely satisfied with the concrete results of this project, which has allowed us, up to now, to donate USD 120,000, devoted to building the multi-purpose sports facility in Pagliare di Sassa. We hope Ronaldinho will keep on scoring goals, so that our contribution can further increase”. “We are glad to continue collaborating with Nutrilite for the second year in a row” said Leonardo de Araujo, General Secretary of AC Milan Foundation. “The construction of the new facility is already under way and very soon the children of Pagliare di Sassa will have a new area to enjoy themselves and practice sport together again”. The goals scored in Italy by AC Milan’s forward, Team Nutrilite member since last year and Global Spokesperson for the Amway One by One campaign for children, have already generated a total amount of USD 100,000, which Nutrilite devolved to AC Milan Foundation and which were destined to the Buzzi Children Hospital in Milan.
